Flash: Passing Arguments via EventListeners

Ok, strangely enough its more difficult in flash than expected.

Maya: Poly to Sub-D

Ok, so creating a Polyplane and then Laying out the different parts of the Model – ok sofar so clear, start wit a Polyplane and then Extract where needed.

At the end of the Extraction, convert the Model from Poly to Sub-D -

• check if Polygeometry is ok, if not, clean up over the Mesh Menu
• unexpected results occur for Poly-Faces that are not visible, to view these, switch to Edge Face View – delete those Edges and repair them via the Merge Vertices/Edges/Append Polygon tool
• closing off a Sub-D its easier to use the Append Polygon Tool.

Maya: Back To Basics

Ok so im kind of relearning the Stuff from Maya – back to the Core Basics.

So well the General, UserInterface of Maya etc. (long live the Spacebar), Normal Informations, what are Nurbs and what are Polygons etc. – ok well whatever.

More interestingly the Modelling Part.

Setting up the Image Planes.  View – ImagePlane – Import Image (displays automatically sourceimages Folder) Images for the correct View. 1063×625 Dimensions for every View. For Correct Position of the Image, one uses the Center Position (Attribute Editor) of the Viewplane.

Only Showing Image Planes in proper View – check the option Display looking through camera.

• Rebuilding the Curve before Revolving creates a more smoother and correct Result.
• Adding a small Bevel to PolyCube Objects (0.2 Bevel) removes the sharp Edge.
• Keyboard: Ins – change Pivot Point Position.
• Duplicating with Transform an object change the Value from Copy to Intance for later mass Editing all Objects.

Windows: RemoteDesktop IpAddress

Ok so Remote Desktop is a Standard and great feature since XP – but the main Problem is: How do you figure out your IP-Address – so that when you are on the road and you want to access your Computer – how do you do it?

1. Go to dyndns.org and register for a Account. (free service)
2. Then go and activate a “Host Service” and create a dns of your choice. like “dunno.dyndns.org”
3. Go get the Update Client (Support -> Update Client) for Windows.
4. Install and run the Client.
5. Configure your Router. You have to open Port 3389 and forward it to the IP-address of the mashine you want to access.
6. Activate Remote Desktop. (WinXP, rightclick MyComputer – Properties – Remote, Vista, rightclick MyComputer, Properties, Advanced Settings – Remote)
7. Test it with another Mashine.

AE: Particle Systems – Lighttastic Tutorial

Lighttastic tutorial uses a Expression, that creates a spiral that goes backwards in Space.

So the Expression in the Tutorial is:

x = Math.sin(time * freq) * amplitude;
y = Math.cos(time * freq) * amplitude;
z = time * speed;
[x,y,z] + value

(time is beeing used as x value calculation, )

Interesting Part about this Tutorial is, that it uses a Null object as a Control, so you add Expression Controls -> Sliders to bind freq, amplitude and speed.

That way you can animate over Keyframes.

Well actually all Controls, so of 3dCamera and the Light Emitter Object have all their own Null objects to Control the Animation.

 

Other Notes:

In Trapcode Particular in the Visibility option you can use a obscurity layer. – so the trapcode plugin interacts with the Aftereffects 3dspace

Also you are suppose to keep 2d and 3d layers stacked together to avoid unintended sideeffects

Air Storage Options

Local Shared Objects. You can serialize memory resident data structures. Great! However, it runs in synchronous mode.

Encrypted Local Store. Used to store sensitive data. The price is the slow write speeds.  Also runs in synchronous mode. All data is serialized using ByteArray.

File System. Obviously important for management of documents. Can run in sync and async mode. The File and FileStream objects work together to point to a file and read/write data. The File object helps remove you from the pain of dealing with Mac vs. Windows environments with properties like File.userDirectory, File.documents.Directory, File.desktopDirectory, etc. It also has methods for opening Open and Save dialog boxes native to the environment as well as copying/moving/deletion methods.

Embedded SQLite Database.  Nice thing about them is that they are self-contained in a single file and require no external software installation to begin using them (support is built into the AIR runtime). Even supports transactions. And the database supports large amounts of data: SQLite has a theoretical limit of over 2TB. Supports ANSI-SQL 92.

Rumänien:Dragobete

Feiertag – Heute feiert man den Gott der Liebe der Rumaenen
Wir sollen realistisch sein: in unserer modernen Konsum-Gesellschaft in der wir heute leben, Dragobe hat keine luxus Restaurants, hat keine desous mit Rueschchen aus feiner roter Seide oder Satin, hat kein ichliebedich@wahnsinnig.com (teiubesc@la_nebunie.com), hat kein e “will you be my Valentine”. Hat nichts. Was hat er denn ?   Hat den Zauber!

Er war ein schoener, unruhiger, stuermischer Mann. Sohn der Alten Dochia, nach einer alten rumaenischen Legende. Dragobetele oder Anfang des Fruehlings. Die Legende sagt sagt dass als die Frauen ihn sahen, sofort wie die Fliegen umfielen und seinem Zauber erlagen. Eine Hypothese ist dass der Name “Dragobete” von den Dakern (Dacier) stammt „trago” – Ziegenbock (spaeter wurde es “drago”) und “bete” – Fuese (wie im lateinischen – pedes). Und der Ziegenbock bedeutet bei den Rumaenen die Kraft der Zeugung, das Libido und die Befruchtung! Der Stuermische wird am 24 Februar (in manchen Zonen des Landes feiert man ihn am 28 Februaroder am 1 Maerz).

Frueher in den Doerfern begann zu Dragobete das Necken : jeder Junge jagte einem Maedchen nach, und sie liess sich einfangen von dem der ihr gefiel und mit dem sie sich auch verlobte. So „kuesste Dragobetele die Maedchen!” was zum spruch in Muntenien, Oltenien, Dobrogea und Transilvanien wurde. Und heute in den Doerfern Gorj und Olt, die unverheirateten jungen Leute treffen sich zu Dragobete, um das ganze Jahr verliebt zu bleiben.

München: Der Flaucher

Der Abschnitt der Isar in Sendling genannt “Der Flaucher” hat seinen Namen ursprünglich zurück auf einen Schankwirt namens Johann Flaucher der 1870 die Gaststätte “Zum Flaucher” eröffnet hat.

Im Mittelalter wurde an dieser stelle die Isar abgeleitet in kleine Bäche.
1839 wurde das Gebiet vom Bürgermeister Jakob Bauer als Erholungsgebiet deklariert (aufgrund der Stadtexpansion) und es Enstand eine Stadtgärtnerei, welche als durchgehende Promenade am Isarufer entlang angelegt wurde.
